The company

P.M.F. S.r.l. was born in 2003 with the aim of providing specialized training and become a center of research in ICT field in the international context.

It is involved in the following projects:

• SMILEY (Social Mindedness in a LEarning communitY)
  PMF, in collaboration with University of Catania – Faculty of Educational Sciences, participates as the partner in the European project SMILEY (Social Mindedness in a LEarning communitY). This project aims to transform the differences between participating students into a useful opportunity for integration rather than being a barrier. Its methodology will revolve around planning and creating a digital, integrated e-learning platform; exploiting the potential of new technologies in the field of education. The main objective of the project is to promote the use of ICT technologies, creating several strategies for conflict resolution. This objective has arisen because of the phenomena of social exclusion and marginalisation in the different school contexts of the project’s partner countries (UK, Italy, Poland, Romania and Turkey).

• Mobile Video Conference System (MVCS) - Project co-funded by the Sicilian Region with the help of the Structural Funds Regional Operational Program 2000-2006 - Size 3.14 - "Promotion and Support to the Regional Research and Innovation", which aims to find a possible multimedia convergence through a solution fixed/mobile allowing the connection of all types of mobile devices in videoconference.

• Babylon & ONtology (BONy) - Multilingual and Cognitive e-Learning Management System via PDA Phone (BONy) - Project financed with the European Commission funds in the "Lifelong Learning Program" project and managed by EACEA. The aim of the project is to develop a new generation of Learning Management System able to create multilingual formative schemes designed on the specific needs of individual users, by using forms of artificial intelligence.
  
  BONy was elected Project of the Month of November 2008 on elearningeuropa.info (www.elearningeuropa.info) and was promoted with an article on the Innova Scuola site (www.innovascuola.gov.it), which is a platform promoted and financed by the Department for Innovation and Technologies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, University and Research.

• E-Kristjan (LLP - Leonardo da Vinci, transfer of innovation) - "Design and implementation of a web-based tool for learning the Estonian language for special purposes for civil servants who do not speak Estonian. The project aims to promote the language learning at workplace, not depending on the geographical location of the person.
